It’s Been A While

Sitting at Starbucks having a coffee this morning and decided to take the opportunity to do a blog post. Something I have not done in months, mostly due to dealing with a high volume of tasks, both professionally and as a homeowner.

Interesting how time gets away from us, no matter what our functionality is in life or the walk we take.

Speaking of time, I am going to try to find the time to get back to this adventure in blogging. In the coming months there will be many changes and opportunities to propagate themselves into this venue, things are a changing as they say.

My son is growing up too fast to my liking and along with this I have noticed that those hands of time appear to be moving a little faster these days. When we are kids we can’t wait until we are 16 in order to get a car and drive. Then we can’t wait until we are 18 and done with High School, then 21 in order to be an adult and legally capable of doing all the things that adult’s are capable of doing.

21 for me seemed to be the culmination of wishing my life away and now I wish I had some of that time back. Amazing how much faster it has moved along since Cam Carter was born. It’s a blur, it’s unfair, and it needs to slow down. Now!

Another culmination occurred today, I provided 2 weeks notice to the company I have worked at for almost 9 years. I won’t go into details, but that I felt I had no other choice as a change had to happen.

In most cases one will want to have another opportunity lined up, but in this case I chose to take a much needed break. A sabbatical if you will and make up for a significant amount of time with my son that I have missed working excessive hours, then writing a book, and then followed by working more excessive hours.

I owe this time to him. If it hurts my career to do what I had to do, then so be it. He is the most important thing in my life, my greatest accomplishment, and the best thing to ever happen to me.

I am a very highly motivated and driven individual, thus I will not be able to stay away from the hustle and bustle for long though, but will maintain an even keel and stable environment for that little man once I roll back in.

It was TIME…
